The Eyes of the Trees.
Revitalization of Gwangbok Street and Piff Plaza
International Competition, Honourable Mention, Busan, South Korea, 2005

Busan is the largest trade port in South Korea and hosts the Busan International Film Festival, is an ocean and a film city. The project brings water and nature into a lively, dynamic narration of public open spaces. “The eyes of the trees” are sculptural spectators of the water trace along the street-earth, till its conjunction with the ocean. We transform selected street positions into scenographic intervals as sensorial experience landscapes. A walk on the street will offer scenes alternating between shopping street-sections and oasis like social condensers, which deliberately capture natural like intrusions.
