Villa V1 – project
S.G.L., Verona, Italy, 2002-2003

In this one-family house, the flexible soft form of an envelope, a kind of topological surface, creates varied inside and outside spaces. The program merges the circulation in and around the house into one single continuum, and porch areas are like covered in-between-skins ambient. Specific cut-outs in the roof envelope are to control the exposure to direct sunlight or to reduce the view corridors of surrounding taller buildings. In order to allow an experience of the outside garden fields, to create an emotional affect, the project site is landscaped into varying themes penetrating the inside.
